A Grateful Heart Every Day
The more we practice finding something to be grateful for each day, the more it changes our way of seeing and being. A gratitude practice can help open our heart to all of life and boost our happiness, resilience, and sense of well-being. It can be something simple that we bring our attention to, something right in front of us.
We can give thanks for the rain that’s on its way! We can be grateful for what we have, materially and in spirit. We can be grateful for being alive, for the beauty we can find all around us, for the goodness inside each of us.
During the holidays, when we turn our attention to loved ones near and far, we can feel gratitude for their presence in our heart and reflect on how they have contributed to our life. We can express our gratefulness in a thoughtful card or phone call, or by spending time with them, giving hugs, listening, and playing. When we sit down to our Thanksgiving meal, we can take a moment to really appreciate the abundance and all that went into bringing this food to our table. And let’s pause to acknowledge and bless all who are suffering from the losses caused by the wildfires.
