Our body’s natural relaxation response is a powerful antidote to stress. It can change our physiology in profound ways and is vital for combating the effects of physical, emotional and psychological stress on our bodies.

Deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, meditation, visualization, yoga, and tai chi, have all been widely studied for their benefits for coping with and relieving stress.

Learning the basics of these techniques can be easy. But maintaining them is key! As with any change, it takes regular practice, and most stress experts recommend setting aside at least 10 to 20 minutes a day. But even with daily relaxation practice, there is no substitute for professional therapeutic massage on a regular basis.
